CCW 2022

See you in 2022 to meet us in Tours! The third edition of the international symposium Climate change & Water under the theme of extremes will be held on May 31 and June 1 and 2, 2022, in Tours in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France.

NEW : The day of June 30 will be a training day dedicated to PhD students on Introduction to Hydrological Modelling in the Context of Climate Change.

The webinar

The MiDi (Environments & Diversity) network proposes to focus on the different forms of impacts of climate change via its effect on water. Indeed, if the general trend of global warming is observed in all regions of the world, where are the findings and responses to climate extremes such as droughts, floods, heat waves and sudden and intense rainfall?

This international webinar will take place over three afternoons and will be in English. It is open to the academic world and socio-economic partners concerned by the variability of the water cycle and adaptation to extreme events.

Half a day will be dedicated to the vine and the forest as an object as well as to the particular hydrometeorological extreme that are droughts.

The event will follow the lead of the 1st Climate Change and Water international conference and address the latest developments in research on extreme events, evolution and acceleration of the effects of climate change on the water cycle, understanding extreme weather events and forecasting, adaptation to climate change, management, governance and strategy. Climate change is disrupting the water cycle. Impacts are observed in all environments and socio-ecosystems: forests, soils, lakes, cities, and so on.

Information

The MiDi network in partnership with ECRA organizes, in replacement of the second edition of the Climate Change & Water conference initially planned in Tours, a webinar on May 25, 26 and 27 from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. Participation is free but registration is required to obtain the connection links.

The 3 webinars are organized in 3 sessions on extreme events and the management of their impacts. The sessions will be opened by the invited speakers of the conference, including Hervé Le Treut, Denis Salles and Philippe Quevauviller for the first session.

These webinars are a precursor to the organization of the conference that will take place in person from May 30 to June 2, 2022 in Tours.

The seminar will be online on the afternoons of May 25, 26 and 27.

Registration is free.
